Our Miracle

Orignially posted 12/31/07

Just a few days ago, I blogged on MySpace about how we had lost the money orders for December's past due mortgage and co-op fees. We were devastated, out of our minds trying to figure out how to make arrangements to cover it and not end up as the newest residents at the Peachtree & Pine homeless shelter. I had taken the last $120 we had to our names and gone to the property manager, sold my soul into a payment arrangement for every payday for the next 3 months or so to catch up. An arrangement, mind you, that I was mostly sure was gonna be nearly impossible to cover. We were going insane, trying to figure out how to squeeze blood out of a turnip for money to cover our bills for the next 3 months. I was certain I would loose the townhouse.

Today I checked the mailbox here at the complex, where we rarely ever get mail. Anything of urgency or importance goes to the PO Box where it was more secure. Low and behold there was a Christmas Card, postmarked 12-27 from an address in Decatur I did not recognize. I opened it, and inside were the money orders we had lost. It read: "I found these outside of Kroger in Decatur on Christmas Eve. I hope its not too late for you to use them. Happy Holidays" No name or signature. Just the return address on the front of the envelope.

Lucky for us they were filled out with our address and made out to Lexington Square Co-Op. And even LUCKIER for us... an honest soul found them, and mailed them back to us.

MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!!

Despite still being behind on a few things here and there, we may still make it outta this hole yet! I want to thank all our other friends who were supportive at a really dark time for us!
