I arrived home this morning half asleep to read this crazy ass enigma of a Myspace Bulletin from My Sister's Room, which I copied below. Now mind you, this is an open bulletin to everyone on their friend's list, which went out to hundred's of people around Metro Atlanta. To be perfectly honest, after the Halloween debacle, I'm not even sure why we kept MSR on our friend's list, other than to occasionally check their posts about performers and events in the unlikely occurrence that something so irresistible would come along where we would break our vow to never return.
*****MSR's BULLETIN, Jan 19, 2008*****
Me and my wife have four kids under 6 years old and I can tell you from being in this nightlife, that I don't care if you come. I love Mr. Charlie Brown and his partner. They have been together for 30 YEARS now and talking to them and knowing them is a pleasure. Having our life and talking to them and knowing them personally has been a blessing. You don't like drag and you don't like the bar, so why do I care about your opinion. These people are a legend to our lives and I idolize Charlie Brown and his partner because I know them personally , this is the family we created for ourselves so FUCK you if you don't like it WE do a good job in this community and I have heard you a couple of times but enough is enough. If you don't like it don't come. I don't think you realize what they do and the legend that Charlie Brown is and we will always support them and it is an honor to have them at MSR

I have no idea what so ever about what may have prompted their post last night, but I can only imagine that patrons may have voiced some opinions (which might I add that they are by gawd entitled to in America) which must have differed from the Owner and her life partner. I say owner and life partner, because despite whatever seemingly significant time and effort her life partner puts into promoting and operating the bar, Susan (owner) repeatedly refused to include her when referring to MY BAR the night we met with them and received our gratuitous ass chewing about posting OUR opinions on MySpace Blogs about the events on Halloween.
But I can tell you this... what the well intending owner may fail to realize is that while MSR is HER BAR , by deed and documents, financially and by profit, it is OUR BAR when we decide on going there for the evening. The COMMUNITY should be entitled to opinions that should weigh heavily on what environment is established there, and where management and owners take it. This FUCK YOU, IT'S MY BAR attitude is a slap in the face of every patron past, present, and future.
Yes, Susan, you are a well established supporter of all the facets of the queer lifestyle, and a generous soul for your numerous charitable contributions. We all can't thank you enough for some of the wonderful things you have done with the proceeds from that bar. But when will you get it? It's EVERY ONE'S BAR when we walk through the doors
I happen to love Charlie Brown dearly as well, and I miss the old cast and cabaret at BackStreet. Charlie Brown was the first real drag queen I ever saw live and in person. But we will be looking to see his show elsewhere. This rant has only solidified our previous decision to never participate in any future open invitation drag shows or other events at MSR, nor to ever drop in for that well-deserved drink from time to time.
